Warranty & Returns

Our beds are crafted with attention to detail, adhering to the highest standards of design and construction. Each of our products is accompanied by a 5 year limited warranty, safeguarding against manufacturing defects and faulty materials. Should you have any such issues within this timeframe and find your product unsatisfactory, we commit to repairing or replacing it at our discretion.

It's important to acknowledge it may take 3-4 weeks to acclimate to a new bed. It is entirely normal for the body to experience initial aches and discomfort, particularly for those transitioning from a well-worn mattress after prolonged use.

If you bought the incorrect bed or simply changed your mind, please ensure no packaging is removed. We cannot accept returns for used beds due to sanatory reasons. You will also need to arrange for the bed to be delivered back to our store.

Warranty terms:

  • Support elements that are either broken or not securely in place.

  • Wires that are loose, broken, or sticking out through the fabric.

  • Indentations on the mattress surface that exceed 35mm.

  • The top grid being loose.

  • Bases or drawers that are not functioning correctly or have defects.

Warranty conditions:

  • The warranty doesn't cover regular wear and tear or damage resulting from abuse, misuse, or negligence.

  • We may decline to service a mattress if it's in an unsanitary condition or if product issues result from factors other than faulty workmanship or materials.

  • Using a mattress protector is recommended at all times. According to Health & Safety guidelines, the warranty becomes invalid if there are any stains on the mattress.

  • We may use alternative or identical materials if the original ones are no longer available.

  • Any fabric defects should be reported to the retailer within two weeks of purchase. After this period, fabric warranty claims won't be eligible, as it would be considered normal "wear and tear."

  • A mattress proctor must be used on the bed at all times.

Warranty does not cover:

  • Minor manufacturing irregularities that do not impact the bed's performance.

  • Regular body indentations of up to 35mm. You can measure this by removing all sheets, placing a straight edge (like a broomstick) across the mattress, and then measuring the gap between the stick and the mattress surface.

  • Damage to the mattress or foundation due to misuse.

  • Damaged edge supports caused by transporting the mattress incorrectly (not flat or vertical). Damage or comfort issues resulting from an incorrect base or insufficient support (when the customer uses their own base).

  • Beds bought from unauthorized sellers or received as promotional gifts.

  • New bed smell, comfort preferences, sheet fit, or bedding height.

  • Handles, if applicable (they are designed for mattress positioning, not for bearing the mattress's weight).

  • Threads pulling out over time are not covered by the warranty as they fall under normal wear and tear.

  • The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

Warranty Process:

  • Email us at goodnight@beddepot.co.nz and make sure you include:

    • A detailed description of what is wrong with the bed

    • A copy of your receipt or sales order in the email.

    • Pictures of the problem.

  • Our warranty means that if there's a problem with the bed within the first year of purchase then we will arrange the pick up of your mattress.

  • If you bought the wrong mattress or simply have changed your mind, that's not covered by the warranty.

  • Once we check and confirm that the problem is a manufacturing fault or the issues with the materials used, we'll either fix it or give you a new one.

  • If something needs replacing under the warranty, it might only be the part that's causing the problem, not the whole bed.

Caring for your new bed:

  • Air the mattress occasionally. Take off all the bedding and let it air out for 6-7 hours to keep it clean and dry.

  • Don't try to fold your mattress; it can harm the springs.

  • Avoid jumping on the mattress, jumping damage is not covered by the warranty.

  • Don't lift the mattress by yourself.

  • Don't use the side handles to lift the mattress; they're only for rotating and if damaged it is not covered by the warranty.

  • Keep kids away from playing with tags and mattress accessories.

  • Use a good mattress protector to keep your mattress stain-free, clean, and dry.

  • If you are using your own base (not one purchased through Bed Depot) a faulty base can cancel your mattress warranty.

  • Use a new Bed Depot base or a good bed frame to keep your mattress in shape.

  • Choose the right pillow for better sleep quality; the wrong one can affect your comfort.

  • Rotate your mattress every two months to wear it evenly.

  • Regularly check your bed's legs; tighten them if they're loose.

  • Don't soak the fabric with water or cleaning liquid.

  • Avoid eating or smoking on your bed.
